3. How deep can the 50W fiber laser marking machine mark?


After our test, the following results :


  • Material: Metal parts common include carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, etc. For these three materials, stainless steel is  better marking.when stainless steel with a thickness of 1mm can be cut  in more than 1 minute.If deep engraving, stainless steel will generate high heat and easily cause deformation. For carbon steel, there is no deformation, and it takes about 15 minutes for a depth of 1mm. The efficiency of aluminum alloy is similar to that of stainless steel.
  • Speed, Under the same depth, the greater the laser power, the faster the speed.
  • Depth, if according to theoretical calculation, the marking depth is 0.1mm once, then 10 times is 1mm.But in fact, we found that this is not true. The main reason is that when the laser engraving or marking on metal, something similar to rust is formed on the surface, which will block the  processing of the laser.,so a 50w fiber laser is more suitable for deep engraving, deep  peeling and small cutting, etc..
